DUX Grand Prix 2024: waste reduction initiatives

Since 2013, the DUX Conference Day and the DUX Grands Prix gala have been aimed at the agri-food sector and showcase the sector's many challenges. Through its competition, it rewards organizations that have developed initiatives and products that contribute to improving the health of the population and the planet. We are finalists of the DUX Grand Prix in the Waste Reduction Initiatives category, we explain!

The DUX Grand Prix: the Live Better and Eat Better competition

Each year, the gala highlights social and solidarity economy businesses, such as institutions and commercial enterprises that are trying to improve the way Canadians eat.

This is a record year for applications, with more than 125 companies and organizations participating. Julia Morin, Project Manager and Brand Manager at DUX

The 12th DUX Grand Prix Gala, hosted by Josée Bournival, contributes to improving citizens' healthy eating practices while creating synergy between stakeholders in the sector.

The DUX Grand Prix are also supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Aware of the challenges ahead, the MAPAQ has made this a priority through two major policies: the 2018-2025 biofood policy and the government's health prevention policy.

Waste reduction initiatives

We have chosen to present ourselves in the Waste Reduction Initiatives category. Yes! We aim to reduce waste and food insecurity in Quebec while promoting access to fresh fruits and vegetables at a lower cost.

The anti-waste basket also has an educational value by encouraging Quebecers to consume fruits and vegetables that are still edible and would otherwise be buried.
